Hello Friends,
I have got a design problem of residential school at contours. I don’t know exactly how to start it so please help me out…..
Regards,
Guneet
Where is your site..? And how big is it?
Actually, we have not got the site at present but I only know that its a contour site….
School has 800 students and classes 1-12..
I think firstly you should draw a conclusion what all facilities children want in school (it may involve your pesonal thoughts) that will make the design base i.e. your concept. and then design accordinly as per requirements.
I agree with Mr. Akash Baxi. If you’re making a school with residential facility (hostel) then you have to make 2 separate buildings for boys and girls hostel. But I wouldn’t mind if there is only one.
The basic theory is needs. You have to first determine all what are required and what else will add charm to your school. Then you will surely find a way to start.
I like working on this kind of interesting projects. Please let me know what have you done till now and what plans have you come out with. I would be happy if I can contribute anything in this project.
There is nothing to worry about..
Contour lines are imaginery lines joining points of equal elevation above a datum or benchmark. The trajectory of each contour lines indicates the shape of the land formation at that elevation.
Contour interval refers to the difference in elevation representated by any two adjacent contour lines on a site plan. The larger the area, the steeper the slope, the greater the interval between contour.
Just try to visualize the countour in 3-d. and always try to to work with section…
I know what all I have to construct in my school plan. Lets see what site we get and how the plan come out.
But still, I need your help as well…
Kahan tak pahuche guneet in ur design?
Started the project… discussion kal hai….
Site is near Shimla… Its a valley with a gradual slope of 9′.
Best of Luck yaar..
